Frequently asked questions
Millisecond precision, limited only by the source file's sample rate. At 44.1kHz you can cut to within 1/44100th of a second — effectively sample-accurate. The slider moves in 10ms steps by default, but you can type exact values if you need tighter control.
Any format your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OPUS, WEBM. The output is always WAV because WAV is the universal format that preserves the trim losslessly.
No. The audio is decoded in your browser, sliced in memory, re-encoded as WAV, and downloaded. Zero network requests after the page loads. You can verify in your browser's Network tab.
Time-based trimming only — the tool cuts a contiguous slice from start to end. For frequency-based work (EQ, bandpass), you need a dedicated audio editor.
Limited only by your browser's memory. Typical phones handle 50-100 MB files fine; desktops can do 500 MB+. For very long files (1 hour of uncompressed WAV), break them into chunks first.
Not yet — MP3 encoding in the browser needs a WASM codec (lamejs or similar) which isn't shipped with this tool. The WAV output works in every audio editor, DAW, podcast host, and speech-to-text tool.
